After the launch of  the two first smartphones with flexible display by Samsung as Round and LG  as Flex, the world of mobiles will see a new age of devices coming in the near future no more than 2 years from now, with the possibility of taking advantage of the new flexible display technology for to get besides curved, bendable/foldable smartphones and tablets.

Even a flexphone/tablet combination is very possible. Easy to carry , easy to fold and put in your shirt pocket or just in your wallet

All will depend on how accurate the working results will be, for transmitting all the information together across the smart flexible display and how the mobile OS will respond the communications challenge in and out of the mobile device for the user in a world now used to share everything possible with others, for personal use and for business.

Promises are yet to bring curved, bended and  foldable devices from 2013 to 2015, as you can see below on Samsung`s Timeline Technology Development, called FOLDIPLAY.

Samsung announces the Galaxy Round  flexible curved display  with a 5.7 inch OLED 1080, 3GB RAM .Press Release.Video.

Specifications from the Samsung Galaxy Round include:

• 5.7-inch 1080p OLED curved display
• 2.3GHz Exynos quad-core processor
• 3GB RAM
• 13MP camera
• 2,800mAh battery
• 7.9mm thick, 154g
• Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
• with Touch Wiz/Nautre UX software to feature a UI that is better suited for the Round.

Samsung Galaxy Round is set at $1,013 and is only available for SK Telecom in Korea, on Oct. 10.

Samsung Announces GALAXY ROUND in Korea

New device presents world’s first commercialized full HD Super AMOLED flexible display

 Samsung Electronics introduced GALAXY ROUND, the world’s first curved display smartphone, to be available October 10th in Korea. Samsung has been a mobile display innovator by introducing color TFT-LCD, AMOLED, and Super AMOLED flexible display for its mobile product. 

With this pioneering curved display technology, GALAXY ROUND blends the latest smartphone screen innovations with unique design features. The sleek and thin Samsung GALAXY ROUND which equipped with a 5.7” Full HD Super AMOLED with 7.9mm thick and weighs 154g offers a comfortable hand grip feeling to user, and exclusive experiences of curved display.

As a result of its unique curved design, users can take advantage of round integration experiences like the Roll Effect that enables the user to check information such as the date, time, missed calls and battery easily when home screen is off, and the Gravity Effect for creating visual interaction with the screen by tilting the device. For music, the Bounce UX enables users to control their music. When the GALAXY ROUND’s display is off while the music player is running, a short press to the left of the device will play the previous track while a short press to the right will play the next track. For pictures and videos, the Side Mirror feature enables users to gain access to list of the album content with a left and right tilt.

The large screen size of the GALAXY ROUND provides additional benefits to users. Useful One-Hand Operation features bring a user’s most desired controls closer to a preferred side of the screen. Samsung (Round) flexible curved display smartphone pictures leaked.

Just yesterday we talked about the possibility of Samsung launching this next week a new smartphone android smartphone code named ROUND and that will start selling it very soon.

Also we pointed out the smartphone will have a flexible curved display. The approximately price of the device in South Korea could be 1 million won= US $933.-

Well now @eveleaks has uploaded some leaked pictures of how the smartphone looks:

The device is running Android beneath Samsung's custom TouchWiz UI, and we can also see that its got "SKT" branding in its status bar, suggesting that the handset will eventually reside on the shelves of South Korean carrier SK Telecom.

The back of the phone, reveals a faux leather texture and stitching similar to what's found on the Galaxy Note 3. The device is said to feature the model number "SM-G910S" and, at least for now, is said to be strictly  for Koreans. 

The innovation in hardware is to place a plastic  organic light-emitting diode (OLED) instead a glass substrate. A flexible bend display speculates the Asian site.

Specifications could be similar to the Galaxy Note 3 says the source.
