iPhone 5C sales at discount in China, as sales lag far behind iPhone 5S.

iPhone5c, Apple's newly-launched lower-end phone, is selling at discounts as sales remain stagnant overshadowed by the intensively popular iPhone 5s.

iPhone 5c with 16 G storage is sold at 3699 yuan (about $604) Thursday at a store on Tmall, the country's largest B2C retail platform, down from the original price of 4488 yuan (about $733). 

Information on the webpage showed the store has sold 45 devices following the launch last Friday. 

The gold-colored iPhone 5s is rather attractive, in particular for Asian markets and prices are pushed to over 10,000 yuan ($1634) at some resellers stores in China amid a mania for the color.

Samsung, Apple's biggest rival, has just announced Thursday that its Galaxy S4 will be offered in two golden colors, following HTC One’s expensive version in 24-carat gold.

The multitouch age on small devices like smartphones started with the first iPhone, since then Apple stores are line people crowded for to get a new version year by year, even now Androids are worldwide number one in sales.

"I waited in line for 10 hours for the first iPhone, also waited in line, outside the mall, in 1999 for the Sega Dreamcast. it's like tailgating. being excited about something and letting that excitement grow along side similarly minded people. when i went out for the 5S launch i found a lot of that excitement and enthusiasm but i also found a lot of tired anxious people who were waiting in line for reasons other than their own desire for a product. that was a little bothersome. the scene at the apple store just before the phones release was also a sight i'd never experienced. beyond excitement it was closer to hysteria. encouraged by hundreds of equally hysterical employees in blue shirts. at the peak of that hysteria i stopped and reminded myself what the impetus was for all of this; a new phone. that warranted a head shake and an eye roll. it's fun to get excited about something, no matter how ridiculous it may seem. i went to the superbowl once and when the patriots lost my best friend started crying. i can understand sleeping on the street for a new toy more than i can crying over a professional sports game.. it takes all kinds i suppose."

Australia: Apple store goes on sale for the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S already.

In Australia, the local time is now 8:51 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, meaning the iPhone has officially gone on sale at the country's local Apple Stores. The country is the first to officially launch the handset ahead of an 11-country worldwide rollout.

Apple's iPhones will be rolling out around the world on Friday, with 11 countries taking part in the launch, up from 9 in 2012's iPhone 5 debut. Following Australia, customers in Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore, the UK and US will be able to place orders through the Online Apple Store, or brave lines at brick-and-mortar locations.

Walmart To Sell iPhone 5C For $79, iPhone 5S For $189.

Consumers looking to pick up either of the two new iPhones can save a bit of cash via Walmart. 

The company announced today that it will sell the 16GB iPhone 5C for $79, $20 off the full retail price, and the 16GB iPhone 5S for $189, a savings of $10 off the full price.

Apple sent out press invitations ,featuring the tagline "this should brighten everyone's day" on Tuesday to its next-generation iPhone launch event scheduled for Sept. 10th at 10 a.m. PT in Cupertino, California at its campus.

 It asks journalists to join them for coffee and breakfast.

We'll see two new iPhones launch at the event — the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C, a budget version of the smartphone.

The new devices will likely include Apple's iOS 7 software. The company calls the overhaul "the biggest change to iOS since the original iPhone."

The invitations come just a few days after the company announced its iPhone trade-in program, allowing customers to return existing smartphones for credit toward another model.

Application developers have found in their app usage logs references to a new iPhone identifier, iPhone 6.1, running iOS 7 operating system, the website reported.

Apple's iPhone 5 bears the identifiers "iPhone 5.1" and "iPhone 5.2" and is powered by the iOS 6 operating system.

Developer logs show that the app requests originate from an internet address on Apple's Cupertino campus, suggesting that Apple engineers are testing compatibility for some of the popular apps, the next web website said.

"Although OS and device data can be faked, the unique IP footprint leading back to Apple's Cupertino campus leads us to believe this is not one of those attempts,"

Apple launched iPhone 5 in September and it has been reported that the new iPhone will be released in the middle of 2013.

Techradar.com reported last month that Apple could unveil the next version of its iPhone as early as the spring of 2013.
