Cortana Personal Assistant is coming to Windows 10 desktop. Video of Pre-release.

Microsoft company are making their first tests of Cortana Personal Assistant that is already on all Windows Phone smartphones, now on Windows 10 for Desktops.

The video below is a Pre-release test and some features are not yet complety working , however it is a good beginning, some of the basic request are responding as you can expect.

"Cortana in this form does not represent the final product. The UI, among many other things are not finished in the build we have access to, so Cortana will look ten times better by the time she is unveiled to the public.

From the get go, Cortana can do pretty much everything the Windows Phone version can. This includes reminders, call people with skype, check my location/maps, play/pause music, launch apps, check the weather and more. Right now, Cortana doesn't have a personality in Windows 10, meaning she doesn't answer questions like "Who are you", however we have it on good authority that she will have this ability by the time she rolls out to the public."

But please watch the video and make yourself an opinion.

As for Windows 10, expect Cortana to be up and ready for the stable version of the operating system which, according to Microsoft’s own statements, should arrive in late summer 2015 or early fall. More details could, however, be provided in April 2015 at he BUILD conference, when a developer preview of Windows 10 could also be presented.

Handwritting to Digitized writting instantly on your smartphone with the NEO Smartpen N2.Video

NeoLAB Convergence has developed a smart pen called Neo N2, which enables users to write on paper and instantly record what's written on smartphones and other mobile devices.

In other words, users can use the pen to take notes and at the same time automatically transcribe what they've written onto their mobile gadgets.

When users draw or write something on paper, the pen's patented N-code technology instantly transmits what is drawn or written onto their mobile devices.

The pen is the size of a regular ballpoint and thus, provides users with a comfortable grip. It is 16 centimeters long and weighs 24 grams.

It is compatible with Google Android, Apple iOS and Microsoft Windows and requires only the Neo notes mobile application. Using the pen is also quite intuitive.

"No receiver necessary, no need to switch the pen on, no need for a smart device. Use it as you would an iPhone; you don't need to reboot whenever you call. Simply start writing, and the N2 will automatically turn on and save everything that you are writing. This is called auto saving," NeoLAB Convergence CEO Lee Sang-gyu said.

The Neo N2 can store up to 1,000 pages and automatically archives the notes by date, location and page number once it is connected with another smart device.

Lee said he invented the device in keeping with his philosophy, "Don't let users get overwhelmed by technology."

He said the engineers and developers behind the product focused on easy usability even though the related technology is extremely complicated.

One might wonder why the CEO chose to invent something that can be used with paper and not with digital devices such as tablet PCs.

Lee said he did so because he thought people are more familiar with the analogue style of writing with pen and paper.

"There are three advantages of the digital method ― the abilities to share, reproduce and store. We believed if we can combine these advantages with the analogue method, with which people are more familiar, we can create valuable things," the CEO said.

In this way, the Neo N2 perfectly bridges the analogue and digital worlds, he added.

NeoLAB Convergence, established in 2009, is a total "serviceware" enterprise that creates new value by converging a variety of technologies, contents and services.

It supplies information and communication technology products such as smart toys and digital pens to various industries including education and business.

Microsoft acquires Acompli, provider of innovative mobile email apps. Press Release.

Credit gif: Wired.

The tech news site Re/code reports that Microsoft paid over $200 million for the acquisition of Acompli.
Acompli makes an email client for Android and iOS designed to make common but sometimes complex tasks—such sorting messages, sending typical responses, and finding attachments—much easier to accomplish on mobile devices.
But even though it runs on devices from competing companies—Google and Apple—the app seems like a good fit for Microsoft.
The product has long been focused on selling software to large companies and it already plugs into Microsoft’s primary email server software, Exchange.
It’s not clear yet whether Acompli will continue as a stand-alone app or be integrated in Microsoft Outlook, but founder Javier Soltero wrote in a blog post that the app will continue to be available on multiple operating systems.
Microsoft has been working hard to bring its products to other mobile operating systems in recent months. In March—shortly after Satya Nadella stepped into the CEO role—the company unveiled Office for iPad, and just last month, it announced a deal to bring Dropbox file sharing to the Office product line.

Press Release:

I’m pleased to announce that Microsoft has acquired Acompli, provider of innovative mobile email apps for iOS and Android.
This acquisition is part of our company-wide effort to help people accomplish more with their mobile devices. This year we brought Office to the iPad and the iPhone, and we recently announced that we’re bringing Office to Android devices. These are significant steps in our work to deliver the best productivity experiences across mobile platforms, and we’re continuing to push forward.
In a world where more than half of email messages are first read on a mobile device, it’s essential to give people fantastic email experiences wherever they go. The Acompli team is passionate about this quest. Their app provides innovative ways to focus on what’s important in your inbox, to schedule meetings, and work with attachments and files. Users love how it connects to all email services and provides a single place to manage email with a focus on getting things done. It consistently receives enthusiastic feedback from users and strong app store ratings. Reviews have called it “your new best friend,” “brilliant” and “must have for BYOD.”
We’re excited about what’s possible as we build on the app’s success and bring it together with work currently in progress by the Outlook team. Our goal is to deliver fantastic cross-platform apps that support the variety of email services people use today and help them accomplish more.
This acquisition brings us an app with innovative technology and a set of talented people who are passionate about reinventing email and communications on mobile screens. It will expedite our work to deliver the full power of Office to mobile devices. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months. You can also read a blog post by Acompli CEO Javier Solterohere.
Thanks,
Rajesh

2Q 2015: Apple is finally working on the iPad Air Plus 12.2 inch alongside the iPad Mini 4.

According to Japanese online publication Macotakara, which bases its news on a report from the Japanese MacFan magazine, the next iPad Air will be called the Apple iPad Air Plus, and this device is expected to have a 12.2in screen thus making it a rather large tablet. MacFan claims to have a leakedblueprint of the rumoured tablet.
The 12.2in iPad Air Plus could be launched in the first half of 2015, with the first set of tablets shipping between April-June 2015.
There is speculation that the Apple iPad Air Plus tablet could well incorporate Apple's latest A9 processors. The Japanese publication adds that the device will feature four built-in speakers, placed at the corners of the short sides of the tablet, and it will be able to correctly orient stereo when it is rotated.
Along with the new iPad Air Plus, Apple is rumoured to be planning a launch of the iPad Mini 4, driven by its A8X processor family, in 2015.
