Vodafone Germany has launched LTE services in the Heiligendamm

Vodafone Germany has launched LTE services in the Heiligendamm,a German seaside resort. It is the first of more than 1,000 communities across the country to be served with LTE mobile broadband services by December.

Vodafone had earlier said to start work on the LTE upgrade at the end of September and by next year, 1500 base stations are planned to incorporate LTE technology.

Vodafone has selected Huawei and Ericsson as technology partners and eventually plans to upgrade all base stations in Germany to LTE.

As of now Vodafone is offering three LTE subscription plans,  LTE home internet with up to 50 Mbps & 30 GB data  priced at €72.49 per month. Plan with speed up to 21.6 Mbps, 15GB data costs €52.49 while plan with up to 7.2 Mbps & 10 GB data would cost €42.49.
