Korean Goverment urges Samsung and LG to adopt on theirs smartphones the "kill switch" security function.

Today smartphones are importnat tools to buy online and are converting as credit cards. This is the reason why Korean government official at the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning urges Samsung and LG to adopt on theirs smartphones the "kill switch" security function.

The “kill switch” security function will enable users to remotely shut off their devices, rendering them useless, to prevent theft.

Samsung Electronics just strated to include this feature on its recently launched Galaxy S5.

LG Electronics will include the "kill switch" function from Q3 2014 on its new smartphones models.

The Korean government’s security initiative, which began last August, followed a move by California legislators who proposed last February a bill requiring handsets sold in the state to have the kill switch.
