Microsoft launched the Windows 8.1 version update of its Windows 8 after a year.

Windows 8 machines can upgrade to Windows 8.1 for free via the Windows Store. 

Owners of Windows 7, Vista, or XP can visit theWindows upgrade page, which will detect whether or not your PC can handle Windows 8.1. 

Packaged DVD version of Windows 8.1 are available as well now.
