The Global Connected Aircraft 2014 Summit will take place in Long Beach california from June 3-4, 2014 and will focus in very important topics to take advantage of the actual bandwith  comunications to offer  new business models to maximize the return on the ‘Connected Aircraft, ’where Passengers want video and lots of it and Tablet devices have become part of the mainstream, and as part of it, how to become more efficient.

How can airlines use the Connected Aircraft to become more efficient? This panel will look at how these processes can be improved as a result of a ‘Connected Aircraft’. We look at how maintenance processes can be improved. We examine how pilots could benefit from more data on the aircraft as well as look at the opportunities to do things such as real-time fuel monitoring/real-time weather monitoring etc.
2:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. A GUIDE TO SATELLITE BANDWIDTH: MAKING SENSE OF THE KU/KA BAND EQUATION
This panel will aim to answer questions about satellite bandwidth and will explain how bandwidth is used and how it gets divided up on the aircraft. Airlines want more understanding about how the whole satellite eco-system works to provide the connectivity. This panel will provide the answers.

While much is spoken of the commercial airline market, business travelers also need connectivity. We look at this particularly segment of the market and how the business jet operators are looking to provide connectivity to their customer base.

Once connectivity becomes a commodity, the opportunity will be for third party providers and software developers to bring new services that will benefit passengers/crew. This market is still at the nascent stage and this panel will look at this market will develop over the next few years, and see what applications we could start to see as a result of having connectivity on the aircraft.
